I learned today what a DREAM student is. And I think that maybe some of my friends are DREAM students, but to me they are just my friends. I learned today though that President Obama did a good thing so that DREAM students can stay in the United States to take care of their paperwork and won’t have to be sent back to where they are originally from.

I go to a bilingual school where I am learning Spanish so some of my friends come from Europe, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. I know some of my friends moved here because of their parents’ jobs. I know others came here because their countries are very poor and dangerous.

To me, it makes no difference where my friends are from. In fact, it’s very interesting to have friends from all different countries. I will get to go and visit one of them in Spain this summer!

Before today, I had no idea what a DREAM student was. I still don’t know if any of my friends are DREAM students because to me, they are just like me, a normal American kid.
