Funds Restored to Medicare Could Increase Patients’ Cost

Mitt Romney’s promise to restore $716 billion that he says President Obama “robbed” from Medicare has some health care experts puzzled, and not just because his running mate, Representative Paul D. Ryan, included the same savings in his House budgets. The 2010 health care law cut Medicare reimbursements to hospitals and insurers, not benefits for older Americans, by that amount over the coming decade. But repealing the savings, policy analysts say, would hasten the insolvency of Medicare by eight years — to 2016, the final year of the next presidential term, from 2024.
 

Gen Y Most Likely to Hold Low-Paying Jobs in Retail

The most common jobs held by Gen Y are merchandise displayer and sales representative, which they are about five times more likely to hold vs. all workers, shows a PayScale analysis of about 500,000 profiles submitted to the company in the past year by Millennials ages 19-30.
Those jobs are also among the lowest paid.

 
Judge Hears New SB 1070 Challenge

A federal judge on Tuesday weighed arguments in court about whether a new injunction should be issued against Section 2B, or what some critics refer to as the "show me your papers" clause, in Arizona's immigration-enforcement law. That provision of Senate Bill 1070 requires law-enforcement officers to make a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of a person stopped, detained or arrested if there's reasonable suspicion that person is in the country illegally.
